Cabin Fever Photographs

Ranunculus Light_1920K

Winters are long, predominated by shades of gray & brown, and on the cloudy & dreary side here in the Midwest. We don’t get a lot of snow anymore either, making the somber effect more pronounced. In the past, I’ve stoically endured the monochromatic malaise, but this past year I decided to take matters into my own hands. Flowers from the florist!

I set up a studio in a spare room and experimented happily for many days with different arrangements, lighting setups, etc. All of the flower shots in the “Newest” section of our website were shot in this manner. Hope you like them!

Web_Henry-Domke_3123Why This Blog?

I started this blog several years ago to learn more from experts about using art in healthcare. It became the basis for my book "Picture of Health: Handbook for Healthcare Art." The intended audience includes interior designers, art consultants, architects, framers, hospital staff and artists. As a doctor, I know what stressful places hospitals can be. Hopefully the blog will help us all create more comforting, healing places.
